A new artwork created by artist and PhD candidate Clare McCracken has gone up on the Bowen Street Hoarding.
Using the expansive canvas of the New Academic Street project’s construction hoarding, the Chronicles of Place tells the story of five young Melbourne women from diverse backgrounds.
Artist and PhD candidate Clare McCracken mentored four RMIT students and alumni including: Rubaba Haider, Zaiba Khan, Shu Jie Jia, and Gabrielle Widders to create the works.
Seeing life, love and heritage through the eyes of these artists, Chronicles of Place takes the viewer on a journey of their imagination, reflections and aspirations. With these works, the artists offer counter narratives, which reveal the complexity and diversity of our city and the people that inhabit it on a daily basis.
Chronicles of Place will remain on the Bowen Street hoarding for the next few months.
